Regarding automobile terminals, everyone who does auto repair knows that the so-called automobile wiring harness terminal is to insert the exposed metal wire core by stripping the wire harness into the crimping area of the automobile terminal processed by the stamping factory, and crimping the plug through the crimping machine. Just like the car terminals of our home appliances, it's just that car terminals require more and larger professional machines for processing and crimping.
Automotive terminals will become tight and inseparable after crimping. They are reliable and long-term electrical and mechanical connection hubs, ensuring safe power transmission and correct signal display during the five or six years of the car's life. In extreme situations such as flooding, fire, corrosion, etc., we need to transport the vehicle to a garage for maintenance to ensure safe driving in the future.
Then we should also pay attention when crimping. First, we must understand the three elements of automobile terminal crimping:
1. For the wire harness, select the wire core diameter that meets the requirements for terminal crimping. Pay attention to whether the wire stripping is qualified, such as the cross-section height, stripping length, whether the plating layer is lost, whether the ends are bifurcated, etc.
2. Terminal plating composition: Depending on the shape of the terminal’s open and closed types, the plating will be tin plating, silver plating, gold plating, zinc plating, etc. The composition of the terminal plating used in each part of the car may be different, and each plating has a specific location. So we need to pay special attention when changing terminals. To prevent short circuit, incorrect display signal, oxidation corrosion, etc.
